The Reading Skills Show
In an age of social media and fake news, reading skills are ever more important. This show aims to address some of the skills to enable pupils to be effective lifelong readers. The show is skills based and encourages pupils to read analytically, whilst considering the purpose audience and form of a text.
The show commences with a foot tapping rap and progresses accordingly. We cover basic skills such as retrieval through to more complex inference and deduction and, most importantly, how to answer questions in a test situation.
We have songs, silly dances and even Martial Arts! Pupils will remember this visit and their core reading analysis skills will improve.
The show comes with its own workbook, a DIY CPD session and lots of free posters.
